[La-cgs] Screening researchers

All,

We have developed some policy language but still need approval and to outline a process to support it. The most significant concern for the graduate school is the screening before an offer letter is sent to a research assistant since much of that process occurs within the academic department.

Jason:

Thanks for bringing this up. We have not had any discussions about this yet but I am eager to learn how others are coping. It seems to me that our new hires for Fall 2023 do not need to be screened, which is a relief. Research staff and postdocs would be another matter. I am not usually in the loop on those hires, especially postdocs.

Best regards,
Ramu

Hello all,
You probably heard that the law requiring that we screen all applicants to research positions for connections to adversary countries passed the legislature. Have any of you started putting together procedures on how to comply?
Thanks,
