Dear All,
Our AI taskforce headed by Dr. Chase is considering these two acknowledgement options (below) for all student papers. This is still in the works.
Regards,
Sushma

Acknowledgement of Generative AI (GenAI) Tools
(Check one)
___ GenAI tools were not used in the completion of this project.
___ GenAI tools were used in the completion of this project.
If you used GenAI tools to complete this project, describe your use below:

Or we could make it even easier for students to fill out:
Acknowledgement of Generative AI (GenAI) Tools
(Check all that apply)
___ GenAI tools were not used in the completion of this project.
___ GenAI tools were used in the completion of this project in the following ways:
___ Invention (generating topic ideas, brainstorming)
___ Arrangement/Organization
___ Creating an visual aid
___ Sentence-level style (Grammar)
___ Other (elaborate below):

This is just a starting place—we'll probalby need to expand the checklist items in the second example. In specific classes and on specific assignments, instructors could still establish more stringent standards (e.g., "On ____ assignment, any use of GenAI is prohibited" or "On ____ assignment, you can use GenAI for prewriting and revision, but not for drafting). But the goal would be to establish a culture of transparency that allows for faculty in still determine what's appropriate in their own fields and courses.

I know this doesn't give a solid answer to the question you asked, and I'm sorry about that. Unforunately, I just don't think there is a solid answer to that question. I haven't seen it answered in any of the position statements or working papers published by my field's professional orgs

Best,
Josh
