When someone wants to take a course for credit outside a regular program, they are admitted as a "special status" student. They need written permission from the course director involved, submit an application (to get them into the system), and pay tuition.

Dear Council members:

At Louisiana Tech, a student pursuing a graduate certificate or someone who is simply taking a course (we call it “Life Long Learning”) are admitted as “Conditional” by default. Are we required to do that? I don’t see any policy in the UL System that applies to graduate certificate admissions/academic standing. Please let me know what policy/policies you have in these cases. Thank you.

Best regards,

Ramu
