[La-cgs] Multiple Entry Points

We have "multiple entry points" with our new AP masters programs. Students can start in Spring A or B, Summer, and Fall A or B. But, none of these students will be eligible for scholarships or GA positions so it's a moot point on that front.
Our GA tuition and mandatory fee waiver only covers fall and spring-not summer or any other term.

John:
By "multiple entry points," I assume you mean different terms. Most of our graduate programs do admit graduate students in every term. Some only admit for the Fall. GA positions are awarded based on the availability of funds. If the budget is spent in Fall, then the ones that come in Winter and Spring do not get funded. Colleges/departments usually provide tuition for GTAs (who teach classes or labs) but not GAs (who provide grading or other services). Of course, there is no policy against GA's receiving tuition scholarships -- we just don't have enough money.
Act 664 requires us to provide mandatory fees to GTA, GRA, and graduate curatorial assistants. I am hoping we will do that on top of tuition, not instead of.
Best regards,
Ramu

We have created a few online courses that are now creating a few problems and was wondering if you had these issues arise.
1) A few online programs have multiple entry points throughout the semester. Do you have any programs with multiple entry points and if so, have you had issues with GA positions and funding? We will have students who qualify and need GA funding that are admitted during term 2 dates. Given their start date, they may not be able to work the 320 hours required (20 hours per week). Have you had to deal with this?
2) Do your GA stipend cover tuition for intersession courses? We have not covered them in the past, but are getting requests to do so.
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
