[La-cgs] Regionally accredited designation

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for bringing this up at our meeting!  I for one had no idea about this development.  Another example of the great value I find in our meetings!

As a direct result, on Friday, our Graduate Council passed the following change to our admission requirements, abandoning the phrase 'regionally accredited":

"Graduates of colleges or universities accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency may apply for admission to graduate study at LSUS."

Attached is the final agenda.  Here are the major changes from the previous version:

  1.  The local interest tour is to the Louisiana Solar Energy Lab and Solar Field at 4 pm.  Some of the Thursday sessions have been shortened to accommodate this.
  2.  Dinner location for 7 pm is confirmed.
  3.  The CCGS and CGS update session is moved to breakfast on Friday.

Please find the revised draft agenda.  The major change is a reordering of items on Friday, March 24, to accommodate a couple of guest speakers on the Research Security topics (Act 767 and NSPM-33).  Dr. John Maloy (Asst VC for Research Management, LSUHSC - Shreveport) has confirmed and I am waiting to hear from Dr. Stephen Beck(Assoc VP, LSU Office of Research & Economic Development).  This session is now at 10:45 am and will feature discussion on two research security topics - Act 767 and NSPM-33.

Mary is working on the two TBD items.  Once those are firmed up, we can finalize the agenda.  Please let me know if there are additional changes/edits.
