Ramu and all,

I like the idea of adding the ability to use either "a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2" or a higher GPA on the last 60 hours, but I do want to make sure that I understand which policy you're talking about.

Could you confirm that you're talking about the "Graduating Seniors -- Concurrent Baccalaureate and Master's Program Enrollment" policy as attached? Sushma references GA requirements, and so I just want to be certain.

I suggest a higher last-60-hours GPA above because it seems to me that the last 60 hours is likely in the major, likely in the graduate degree area that they're seeking admission, and long after their "rocky start."

Happy New year all! I hope 2022 is kind to everyone.

Ramu, I am on board with you about changing the GA requirements. Like you mentioned, there are students who are off to a rocky start before hitting their stride.

Regards,

Sushma

Dear friends:

Another question for you all related to concurrent enrollment -- the UL
System requires an overall GPA of 3.2 on ALL undergrad coursework to
qualify. Does the Southern and LSU system have similar rules?

Question to ULS colleagues: How do you all feel about asking for a
modification of the ULS policy to say something like "Overall GPA of 3.2
or an average of 3.2 on the last 60 hours"? Not everyone is a stellar
student all the way through, and I do know a few very good students who
had a rather rocky start for various reasons and cannot qualify for
concurrent enrollment as a result.

Best regards,
Ramu
