Dear colleagues:

I hope all of us, especially those in South LA, will be safe during 
Hurricane Ida. It seems it could make landfall anywhere between New 
Orleans and Lafayette as a Cat 3. I used to be rather smug about being 
in North LA until Laura and Delta taught us some good lessons.
