[La-cgs] [EXTERNAL SENDER] Graduate Coordinator Compensation

We operate in much the same way as everyone else. Graduate coordinators fall into one of these categories at Northwestern:

  1.  12 month faculty (the program work requires it)
  2.  9-month faculty w/course release
  3.  9-month faculty w/out course release would get an additional stipend which we roll into their annual salary. Their appointment letter clearly states their faculty salary, and the amount they are getting for the Graduate Coordination, and that, should they or the University move in another direction, that stipend is removed from their total annual salary.

Stipend amounts vary, but typically range $500 (small programs) - $2000. I try to compare everything to the amount of work/time that an adjunct would spend on a class, and base the stipend on that.

We have graduate program coordinators for each of our colleges/departments with grad degrees, Biology, Business, Math, Dietetics, Nursing, and Education.  The grad coordinators are on our University Graduate Council and they present all grad faculty applications, course/program changes, etc. to Graduate Council.  They also typically take care of all graduate program paperwork/issues for their respective programs.  The grad coordinators get a $1,000/yr stipend.
