Thanks to all that shared information on Chris’s question, as it was also helpful and timely for me. I would also like to ask a related question(s).  With regards to Graduate Faculty, what input do you have as Dean regarding their tenure/promotion or their “requirement” to teach/participate in graduate courses? Are the duties/responsibilities of a Graduate Faculty member outlined within the context of their primary faculty appointment and assigned and enforced only by their direct supervisor and School’s Dean?

I don't believe there's a specific UL System policy, but I know there's a SACSCOC requirement. Does anyone know what the UL System requirements are for faculty to teach a graduate-level course?  We have a factly member that wants to teach a 500-level graduate course and she has a M.S. degree and over 60 hours of PhD work, is just all but dissertation.
