Good morning,
LSU A&M does not allow undergraduate courses to count toward any graduate degree or certificate, in line with LaTech as stated by Ramu.
Also, in line with Ramu, most, but not all, of our graduate certificates are 12 hours; the minimum the BoR requires.

Chris:
Most of our graduate certificates are 12 hours in accordance with the minimum allowed by the BoR definition: https://www.laregents.edu/academicaffairs-policiesandprocedures/<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.laregents.edu%2Facademicaffairs-policiesandprocedures%2F&data=05%7C01%7Ccwicks%40lsu.edu%7C58112779b2794472d28308dad0b42aee%7C2d4dad3f50ae47d983a09ae2b1f466f8%7C0%7C0%7C638051769514376157%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=xCJSHo0v%2F%2Fl6pP7q2kXTk8xZqSj25H%2F3vpgISzVNLp8%3D&reserved=0>. We do not allow any undergraduate credits to be applied to a GC or a graduate degree.
Graduate Certificates
Graduate certificates provide a shortened, condensed and focused course of study that supplements an existing Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree. They frequently lead to licensure or certification, provide needed job-related expertise, or are focused on a timely area of discussion in a discipline, and they usually are offered by or through the Graduate School.
Final approval authority: Board of Regents.
1. Graduate Certificate (GC) - a graduate-level academic offering addressing a particular topical area. The number of required courses varies, but the typical range is 12-18 credits.
Example: GC in Communications Systems
----------------
We allow graduate credits to be counted towards the UNDERGRAD degree through the "Accelerated Bachelors Masters" program (Mary Farmer-Kaiser helped formulate the applicable language for the UL System Policies). Here is our Catalog statement on that:
Graduating Seniors - Accelerated Baccalaureate and Master's Program
Louisiana Tech undergraduate students in the Concurrent Enrollment Program may, subject to the approval of the undergraduate degree program administrators, use up to 12 credit hours of graduate courses to satisfy requirements in their undergraduate curriculum. The maximum number of hours that can be double counted in this fashion is subject to the requirement that the combined Baccalaureate and Master's curricula will total a minimum of 144 credit hours.
------------------
I understand that the total of 144 credit hours for a Bachelors + Masters is a SACS-COC requirement.
Best regards,
Ramu

Hello all,
I'm having trouble finding information about undergraduate courses for a graduate certificate andI was hoping that the group might know the answer or point me in the right direction. We are working on a history dual enrollment graduate teaching certificate (18 hrs) at Nicholls and I'm looking for any requirements for the maximum amount of undergraduate course hours that can be applied to a graduate certificate. I know for a master's degree a minimum of half of the courses must be graduate courses but does the same apply to graduate certificates? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
