[La-cgs] Spring Break

As of this time, Northwestern does not intend to modify its Spring Academic Calendar. We also did not alter our Fall calendar (although the Hurricanes modified it for us!).

At LSUS, Spring 2021 classes begin on Jan 11.  We have Mardi Gras holidays on Feb 15 & 17 and a full week of Spring break the week of March 22.  I am not aware of any plans to change this.

Tulane will have Lundi Gras, Mardi Grad day and 3 lagniappe days sprinkled throughout the semester. We start on January 19th and there is no Spring break.

UNO has holidays Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras and Good Friday—that’s it. The semester starts late (Jan 29th) and ends late (May 11th). In recent years, the spring holidays have gotten fewer and fewer. There is also a new three-week winter intercession starting January 4th. Typically, these intercessions have been the reason breaks are squeezed out.

Just wondering what your university is doing regarding spring break.  Our spring break usually consists of two weekends and a full week (based on Easter schedule). As other Louisiana universities have discussed, we are considering canceling spring break or shortening it and using some "lagniappe days" throughout the semester.
