Subject: On-campus visit by Energy Office of the Louisiana Department of Conservation & Energy (LA C&E)

On Friday, September 25, we will be hosting two officials from the Energy Office of the Louisiana Department of Conservation & Energy (LA C&E): Mr. William Spatafora, Federal Energy Program Manager, and Dr. Abby Springer, Director of Federal Grants.

There will be a presentation at 8:30 AM in the IfM Auditorium about their agency and potential funding opportunities, followed by Q&A.

They have told us that as part of Louisiana’s annual State Energy Program funding through the U.S. Department of Energy, LA C&E has potential funding available to support energy-related initiatives across the state. Current areas of interest include:

  *
grid resiliency
  *
nuclear energy
  *
geothermal energy
  *
critical minerals
  *
Biomass
  *
energy efficiency
  *
battery energy storage, and
  *
other emerging energy technologies or innovations that could provide meaningful benefits to Louisiana.

Please attend if your research interests overlap with their current interests.
