<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">I would like to introduce Dr. Leland Weiss to the Louisiana Council of Graduate Schools. Dr. Leland Weiss will begin his new role as Dean of the Graduate School in January 2026.</span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt"> </span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Dr. Weiss currently serves as Academic Director in the College of Engineering and Science for the Industrial and Civil Engineering programs and the Construction Engineering Technology
program. He joined the Louisiana Tech faculty in 2008, has served as an Academic Director since 2017, and is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Weiss earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University and his B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.</span></p>
