We require all transcripts currently at LSU A&M, but we have a proposal in from our Assistant Dean of Recruiting and Admissions (rationale below) to change this to only institutions where a degree was earned. It seems like more institutions have moved/our moving
in that direction. The current requirement really bogs us down and slows our ability to get applications to departments for their decisions.</div>

"Currently, we require transcripts from all institutions where an applicant was enrolled. Historically, this was the standard in the Graduate Admissions world because students could not collect transcripts from institutions where they owed money or loans. In
recent years, the government lifted that requirement and now institutions are forbidden from holding transcripts even if a student has defaulted on federal loans (private or University funds not included).</div>

Reducing the minimum University requirement to only require “transcripts from an institution where a degree was earned” has many benefits.</div>

1. Money savings - Many transcripts cost about $15 to send.</div>

2. Option to send additional transcripts - A student may still send supplemental transcripts if they wish and if they would like to have transfer credits considered from the institution.</div>
