<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Good morning, everyone! I am absolutely thrilled to introduce you to Northwestern’s new Dean of The Graduate School, Dr. Mary Edith Stacy. As you all know, I have maintained
the title of Dean in addition to my role as Provost. The role of the Dean of Graduate School at Northwestern has been done by the Provost since budget cuts in 2010, and I have been working to try to reestablish the Dean as a full-time role.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Dr. Stacy has been with Northwestern for a long time; she will tell you it is her entire life as she went through NSU’s lab schools, graduated from Northwestern, and then
served in various roles in Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and as an Instructor in Psychology. After she retired, she returned a few years later as an Instructor in the College of Business and Technology, and has most recently served as Dean of the
College of Business and Technology. I am very excited for Mary Edith to take on this role, and I know you will all enjoy getting to know her, and will welcome her to this outstanding group.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">I am not going anywhere, and am always happy to participate in dialogue with you all. My role has expanded a bit, and Mary Edith taking on this Dean’s role will really be
helpful. I also am a full Graduate Faculty member, so I will be staying very close to all things Graduate School related.
