Obadiah: We will add Increasing Graduate Student Enrollment
to the list.

In response to Mary's suggestion, here are some possible dates for
Spring (taking into account what I know about Tech's calendar). I
assume we will meet after the CSGS meeting (March 13-15) in
Greenville, SC. With any luck, Mary will be able to off-load the
Presidency on someone else 😉. So, keeping with our tradition of
starting on a Thursday at noon and ending on Friday around noon, and
accounting for Easter, we can consider:

March 21-22
April 4-5
April 11-12
April 18-19

Please indicate your availability here:
https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/aO819PRb. Only the first
date in each pair is shown in the poll. We all know that things will
come up and our availability will change, so we will treat this poll
as very preliminary.

Best regards,
Ramu
Thanks, Ramu, for keeping us on track!
The Nov. 3 date works fine for me for the Fall Zoom meeting.
We'll know where things stand with the ULS transcript policy
proposal by then, and I'm happy to lead a conversation with
Nancy about it. I'd also like us to keep health insurance on
this agenda. I know the Jim was able to make significant
progress at LSU, and I'd like to learn more about how he made it
happen. I'm also part of discussions here on campus and that
involve folks from the ULS on the topic and, by then, I should
have more information to share.

I know it might be hard to do but do could we work to identify
or at least narrow down the options for the Spring meeting dates
before we meet in November?
Dear friends:

I hope the new academic year is off to a good start for
you all. Our
official headcount day was yesterday, and it seems we have
a lot to be
thankful for.

When we met in Lafayette in March, we agreed to hold a
Zoom meeting in
the Fall and a face-to-face meeting in Ruston during the
Spring. No date
is going to be perfect for this busy group. So, the
office-holders
Sushma, Nancy, and I propose Friday November 3, 1:00 -
5:00 PM for the
Fall meeting. We hope that most of you will be able to
attend or have
someone represent you. Here is a tentative agenda and
discussion leaders:

1) Updates from all members
2) Review of bylaws - Ramu (I will circulate a draft of
any suggested
revisions ahead of the meeting)
3) Update from Spring:
(a) UL System's policy on "transcripts from every
institution
attended" - Mary/Nancy
(b) health insurance for graduate assistants - ???
4) Compliance with Act 106 of 2023 (which amended Act 767
of 2022, thank
goodness!) - Ramu
5) ABM degrees - Sushma
6) 3MT competitions - Ash
7) Other items -- including deciding on the dates for the
Spring meeting

That is a long list for one afternoon, so let us
prioritize. James
Spencer, Mary, and I volunteered to look into 3(b), but we
have not had
a discussion yet; so that may have to wait till Spring.

Please send your comments about these suggestions to the
group. Motions
to vacate will be cheerfully entertained 😛

Best regards,
Ramu
