Your situation is not different from ours. However, as we discussed
during our last meeting in Lafayette, we are now under a mandate by
the UL System to review the transcripts of all "transfer students"
for eligibility to return and for any completed or pending
administrative actions. So, it seems we need a way of identifying
and flagging transfer grad admissions.

Sushma says ULM flags transfer graduate students. I hope she chimes
in soon with their definition or criteria for determining who a
transfer student is.

Dear LA Council:

We are trying to come up with a definition of a transfer

the UL System level and in our own Catalog about transfer
admissions (GPA, good standing, eligibility to return, etc.,
etc.) but the definition is not clear.

Is it understood or implied that a "transfer admission"
applies to a student who is enrolled elsewhere at the
time of application to your institution, or does it
also apply to someone who dropped out of college for a while
and is now applying to you? I know that we require
transcripts of all previous college work regardless of the

Thank you.
