<p class="MsoNormal">At Northwestern, our policy is also 6 years. However, the student, in tandem with their advisor/program coordinator, can apply for a re-validation. As Dean, my first question is always: will an automatic re-validation of the course indicate
that the content is relevant and current? If so—I approve. If not, then either an exam must be taken to indicate current relevancy of content, or a research paper be submitted to prove the same. In general, we are user-friendly in these instances, and students
are able to provide sufficient knowledge. <o:p></o:p></p>
