<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Students who wish to obtain a second graduate degree from this University must meet all academic and residence requirements set by the Graduate Program and the Department concerned. A maximum of six hours from
the first graduate degree earned at another regionally accredited university may be applied towards the second, if, at the beginning of the second degree, the Dean and Director of the second graduate degree approve the credits. In the College of Business,
only credits offered in an AACSB$B!>(Baccredited program may transfer. <span style="background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow">

Commentary: The sentence in red stipulates that the first master's degree must be earned at Louisiana Tech in order to take advantage of the "one-half credits" option. Transfer credit from another institution is limited to one-third the total hours required
(as explained in the final item on the ULS policy that Mary cited).<br>

However, every rule must have exceptions, right? So here is the exception to this rule: We have a special agreement with Northwestern State University regarding transfer into our MFA program. Our MFA degree is 60 hours. A student with a Master's degree (e.g.,
an MA in Art) from Northwestern State entering our MFA program may need to take only 24 to 36 hours at Tech, i.e., we accept the rest in transfer credit. For those who have not completed a previous Master's degree but have earned several graduate hours, our
transfer policy is the same as the last item in the ULS document: maximum of one-third of the credit hours required (in the case of the MFA, that would be 20 hours).<br>

best to postpone the regular meeting to April 2021. Hopefully, the travel situation will have improved by then.
